The Shannon cottage is one of two on a long driveway within the National Park marked only by one of those little ID squares. It is about a half mile to the old Coast Guard station (Coast Guard Beach); from the large deck off the living room, a tall person can see the white ripple of surf breaking along the shoreline. Just before the beginning of the driveway are the entrance to Doane Rock picnic area and the way station (parking area and bus stop) for the National Seashore beach trolley. The house has two small double bedded bedrooms off of the rather formal parlor with a bath between them. Another section of the house has kitchen area at the end of a large sunny family room and an entryway bedroom (which has its own exterior door). Washer and dryer are in the basement. '08
