Ponichtera is a BIG, OLD cottage. I’ve sometimes described it as reminding me of the boarding houses that we had on the Cape in the 50s and 60s, where “young ladies” (aka college girls) could rent while living away from home and working on the Cape. Downstairs are a kitchen, small separate diningroom, and small livingroom, plus an enclosed porch which adds an extra room for relaxing. There's a small screened porch off the kitchen for such utilitarian things as holding the trash cans safe from animals. Upstairs are 5 rather low bedrooms tucked under the eaves, two lavatories, and a shower room. The cottage also has a separate apartment on ground level with its own livingroom, kitchen, 2 bedrooms (you have to go through the bathroom to get to one), and small, rather quaint bath with shower. The enclosed outside shower does extra duty at this cottage because of the number of bedrooms and lack of a first floor bathroom in the main cottage. There is a neighborhood-only beach about 200 yards away with stairs; the public beach at Campground, which has no stairs, is not much longer a walk.
