Plouffe

The Plouffe cottage sits at the end of a dead-end dirt road where a small “turn-around” forms a cul-de-sac parking area with several cottages clustered around it. At the western edge of this area is a stairway leading to a bay beach which all in the immediate neighborhood are entitled to use. There are a number of steps with a landing/rest area part of the way down. The base of the stairs goes over a sea wall and continues to the sand. At high tide, water rises vertically up the sea wall (like the edge of a swimming pool); at low tide, the sand flats are exposed quite far out. The cottage itself has a spacious deck; the livingroom/kitchen along the front has a dining table that folds against the wall when not in use. Behind, there is a hall with a bedroom on each side and a bath with shower at the end. The washer/dryer are a stack-pack in one bedroom closet. At the beginning of the hall is a wall-mounted ladder leading to an open hatch in the ceiling, through which one can reach a low loft for storage. A new enclosed outdoor shower (hot and cold) will be added in 2008. This cottage has everything in a cozy package.
