Bertoline (Coral)

The Bertoline cottage is one of the Sea Shells, a cottage colony on Chequessett Neck Road in Wellfleet that converted to condo ownership. It is just beyond and next to Powers Landing, a small public bay beach, and about ½ mile to the yacht club on the way out to Great Island. There are two levels, street level where everyone parks, and up on the hill, which is reached by a set of steps built into a dune. Coral is one of three cottages on top of the dune, third back from the water side. It has a panoramic view of Wellfleet Bay over the roofs of the lower cottages. It is about a mile to the town pier, town tennis, little league field, and town recreation program for kids, and about the same distance into Wellfleet center. The cottage was remodeled a few years ago and now has a bedroom downstairs and two at the top of a metal spiral staircase. Elevating the sleeping space made more living area on the first floor, including a small dining area with a water view. The cottage allows five occupants, has cable TV and phone. Coin laundry facilities are provided on the property for the use of all cottages. '08
